Dr. Singleton was born on October 30, 1939, the son of the late Loyd Singleton and Penny Johnson Singleton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Loyd Singleton.
Dr. Singleton attended Berry College where he received his MBA. He received his Doctorate in Higher Education from the University of Alabama and also in International Economics. He enjoyed teaching at Floyd College where he retired. He was also a CPA and owned R. Glenn Singleton CPA in Rockmart until his death. He was a member of the National Association of Forensic Examiners and the Georgia Society of CPAs. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Duck Singleton, to whom he was married October 7, 1987; one son, Robert Singleton, Jr., Atlanta; two daughters, Charlotte (Nathan) Wheeler Ritz, Smyrna, and Shari Baillargeon, Snellville; one grandson, Michael Lawson; and two brothers, Bill Singleton, Jacksonville, FL, and Don Singleton, Pensacola, FL.
The family received friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17, 2011, from 2 until 4 p.m.
