Ruth Fallon Kastanias

Mrs. Kastanias was born in Jersey City, NJ, on March 6, 1927, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Jessie White Fallon, and was one of eight siblings.

After high school, Mrs. Kastanias finished practical nursing school and was a nurse until the birth of her second child. Her courtesy, kindness and love were extended to all who were willing to accept them. She was known as one of God’s faithful handmaidens.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nick Kastanias, who she met on January 1, 1950 and married on July 18, 1950; five children, Barbara K. Lee, Jo Ann Elliott, George P. Kastanias, Keith A. Kastanias and Jessie L. Nachtsheim; 12 grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

A Rosary will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at 7 p.m. at Daniel’s Funeral Home with Deacon Stuart Neslin officiating. The family will receive friends at Daniel’s Funeral Home following the Rosary until 10 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Edward Danneker officiating.
