
Mrs. Cochran was born in Rome, GA. on October 27, 1922, the daughter of the late Zim Turner and Nellie Henderson Turner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, Herman Turner, P.J. Turner, Ralph Turner, Troupe Turner, Hubert Turner, Zim Turner, Bobby Turner, and a sister Betty Stephens, and her husband Clifford Wallace Cochran to whom she was married on August 21, 1942. They were married for sixty four years.
Mrs. Cochran was a homemaker and once her daughters were in high school she worked in ladies retail clothing for 21 years. She was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church serving in numerous capacities including a teacher of Sunday school classes as well as a member of the Ruth Sunday School class until the onset of her illness.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Jane Cochran of Cloudland, and Susan Brinson and her husband James of Manchester, GA; one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Alston and her husband Jeremy of Adairsville, a grandson, Andrew Quinton Self of Rome, and three great grandchildren, Katie Self, Emily Self and Gibson Alston.
The family received friends Wednesday November 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm at North Broad Baptist Church. A 2:00 pm service followed the visitation in the sanctuary of North Broad with Rev. Micah Pritchett and Dr. Hugh C. Peacock officiating. Interment then followed at the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens mausoleum.
