

Sarah Frances Fricks Parker, 93, passed away on July 31, 2023. She was a lifelong resident of Rome, Georgia. Frances was currently living at Riverwood Community Center, but prior to that she resided at 605 West 10th Street. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Jessie Fricks and Ruth Irvine Fricks.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Nancy Parker Self(Scott) and Kay Parker Doss(Moe), seven grandchildren, Bart Jenkins(Brenda), Drew Doss(Zack Upton), Sarah Ann Self(Daniel Atkins), Hal Doss(Dre Giuffre), Franklin Doss(Lindsay), Jeffery Self(Augustus Prew), and Jon Doss (Alli), seven great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Frances was married on April 9, 1950 to the late Harold K Parker. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, the Etowah Chapter #30 of the Eastern Star, and the Lavender Mountain Quilt Guild. She worked in retail during her adult life. She is probably most remembered for her work at The Buttercup Boutique, The Ragtime Boutique and The Lad n Lassie Children’s store. Frances was a big Elvis fan. One of the highlights of her life was seeing him in concert . In fact, she chose an Elvis song as a ringtone for her cellphone! Frances loved traveling with Harold in their later years. She also was an avid reader and quilter.
Frances will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Eastview Cemetery on Friday, August 4, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Mrs. Parker.
