He was the son of the late Charles William Blaylock and Edith Hudgins Blaylock.
Steve loved and looked so forward to college football, mainly the University of Georgia. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Harriett O. Blaylock of Rome to whom he was married for 44 years; one son, Eric William Blaylock (Carolyn) of Rome; one daughter, Hanna Aggie Blaylock (Stanley) of Washington, NC; and two sisters, Cynthia Blaylock Beard (Danny) of Cartersville and Elizabeth Denise Blaylock of Rome. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jackson Blaylock and Stiles Blaylock; one niece, Kimberly Beard Cleek and one nephew, Matthew Beard.
A memorial service was held Monday October 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Lovejoy Baptist Church with Rev. Carey Ingram officiating. A brief visitation followed the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Rome-Floyd County Humane Society, 3 Central Plaza Box 193 Rome, Ga. 30161-3233.
