Mrs. Simmons was born in Charleston, South Carolina January 3rd, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Willis Raymond Singletary and Bernice Anna Long Singletary.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert H. Simmons of Rome; children, Robert O. Simmons and Franklin R. Simmons both of Canton, GA; a brother, Michael Singletary of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Jane Price of Grandy, North Carolina; and grandchildren, Kathleen Suzanne Simmons and Megan Willis. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service was held Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Smollar officiating. The family received friends at Daniel’s one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society 1825 Barrett Lakes Blvd., Suite 280 Kennesaw, GA. 30144.
Daniel’s Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
