

Alan Lester Vaughn, a long time resident of El Dorado Hills, California, departed this life in Roseville, CA on November 20, 2014 at 11:05 a.m. at the age of 71. The eldest child of Agatha & Frank Vaughn, Alan was born, January 22, 1943, and raised in Long Beach, CA
He was a loving husband who will be missed dearly by his wife Nancy. He was a special father to his two children and three step children, a grandfather, a Godfather as well as an uncle and grand uncle to many nieces and nephews in California, Wisconsin, New York and Texas. Alan also enjoyed many cherished friendships; some that lasted a lifetime.
He attended St. Anthony Parish School (K-8) and graduated from St. Anthony High School (9-12) in 1961. He briefly attended the University of Southern California where he studied Mortuary Science. He worked in the mortuary business from 1962-1970 at several mortuaries in the Long Beach area including Patterson & Snidley, Mottell's Mortuary and Daily & Bartells. From 1970-1973 Alan was an Account Manager for S & H Green Stamps and in 1973 he became a Territory Sales Representative for Fuller O'Brien Paint where he climbed the corporate ladder over the next 15 years to become Vice-President of Sales when he retired from the company in 1989. Later in 1989 he accepted a position at Simpson Coatings Group and permanently retired in 2007 as their Executive Vice-President.
Alan was a collector of classic cars. His passion included his Corvettes, Mercedes Benz, Chevrolets, and Buicks. Each and every one was polished and well cared for. He loved his cars.
Alan is survived by his wife Nancy Ann Vaughn of El Dorado Hills, CA; his daughter Karen Rappa (Michael Rappa) of Roseville, CA; his son David Vaughn (Lori Vaughn) of Vacaville, CA; his grandchildren Katherine, Madison, Michaela & Morgan; his brother Brian Vaughn (Jennifer Vaughn) of Citrus Heights, CA, as well as his step daughter Nicole Hoag of Santa Monica, CA, and his two step sons, Jeffrey Hoag (Katie Hoag) of Sacramento, CA and Jonathan Hoag (Ashlee Hoag) of Roseville, CA along with his extended family and friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents Frank & Agatha (Bedard) Vaughn and his brother’s Keith Vaughn (Nancy Vaughn) & Greg Vaughn (Wilma Vaughn).
A memorial service will be held at Lambert Funeral Home 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA on November 26, 2014 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow.
