Silva, Juan, born on October 3, 1923 in Xochimilco, D.F., Mexico, the loving son Armando and Gabriela Ortiz, passed away on September 18, 2013, at home on hospice in Roseville, California, surrounded by his daughter, Addie Lee, son-in-law, Clifford Lee, and granddaughter, Danielle Lee.
Juan, a resident of Roseville for ten years, was retired after being the main cutter at Down River Forest Services for more than 30 years.
Juan immigrated to the United States in 1958, and he and his wife, the late Gabriela Silva, became naturalized United States citizens in 1981. Juan, an avid San Francisco Giants fan and Stanford Football fan, succumbed to congestive heart failure after suffering a massive heart attack in late June 2013, which he concealed from his family in order to avoid disrupting his great-granddaughter’s birthday party, and then attend one more San Francisco Giants game. During that game, post-heart attack, Juan walked the Giants stadium -- twice.
Juan is also survived by his granddaughter, Gabrielle Su (Frank), and Great Grandchildren, Liana and Ainsley Su, having lost his wife, the late Gabriela Silva, three years earlier.
