

Larry Albert Kring was born to John and Donna on September 19th, 1940. The second of five siblings, Larry grew up surrounded by a close-knit family. His childhood was filled with the hard but rewarding work of farm life, friends and sports.
Larry pursued higher education at Purdue University, where he graduated with B.S. Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Larry continued his education with an M.B.A. from California State University at Northridge
After graduating from Purdue, he moved to California to begin his career with Rocketdyne, testing rocket engines.
Following his marriage to Dana Egan in June 1964, he lovingly raised 3 children: Michael (Sydney, Australia), Ed (Granite Bay, California), and Danielle (San Diego, California). He was beloved “Papa” to nine grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. Dana preceded him in death.
Larry is survived by his wife Kathy and sons Michael (Louise) of Sydney, Austalia, Ed (Lisa) of Granite Bay, CA, and daughter Danielle Mahoney (Col. Kim) of San Diego; and Grandchildren Aiden, Sophia and Ella of Sydney, Ryan (Kendall), Taylor and Kendyl of Granite Bay and KJ (Kristen), Joey and Mark of San Diego and Great-Granddaughter Isla. And his siblings, Dave (Michigan), Janet (Indiana), Linda (Indiana), Don (Indiana), and Bill (South Carolina).
Larry finished his career as Senior Group Vice President for Esterline Technologies in Bellevue, Washington, until his retirement in 2008. Prior to joining Esterline, Larry spent 15 years as President and CEO of Heath Tecna Aerospace Company. He also served as an executive of Sargent Industries and was General Manager of Cochran Western Corporation. He was a director of Everlast Worldwide, on the board at Flow Industries, and served three terms on the Aerospace Industries Association’s Board of Directors.
Later in life, Larry lived in Bellevue during the summer and enjoyed winters in Palm Desert, where he could often be found on the golf course, playing nearly every day. Eventually, he settled in Roseville, California, with Kathy.
Larry had a genuine love for people and a generous heart. He was known for his warmth, easy conversation, and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. His presence brightened every room, and he made friends wherever he went.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
