Nell C. Skellenger

Born on February 26, 1922 in Cambria, Oklahoma, she entered into rest on April 14, 2011, in Grass Valley, California at the age of 89.

Nell was a 56 year member of the Order of Eastern Star, Penryn Chapter and Past Matron, also a member of Daughters of the Nile and International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

She was a homemaker and for a few years drove a Penryn School bus and worked in the Penryn and Loomis fruit sheds packing fruit.

Nell is survived by her cherished family and loving children, Gary and his wife Sandra, Robert, John and his wife Martha, son-in-law Jerry Matthews, beloved grandchildren, Kathaleen Johnson, Tammy Campos, James Skellenger, Patricia McAnally, Sean Matthews, Mike Matthews, Robert Jr. Skellenger, Edward Skellenger, Kristie Skellenger, Melissa Call, and John Skellenger. She is also survived by over 30 great grandchildren, Sister-in-law Leona, Joyce, Mae and brother-in-law Dallas.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband Ralph of 66 years, son Dennis, daughter Lorraine, sister Bernice and brothers Stanford, Archie, David, and Eddie (sock).

Friends and family are invited for visitation on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Lambert Funeral Home, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA and Funeral Services on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 12:00 P.M. at Lambert Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Rd., Newcastle. Reception to follow at the Portuguese Hall adjacent to the Newcastle Cemetery.
