Born May 30, 1936, Rosie leaves behind her husband, John Montero, Sr.; her son, John Montero, Jr. and his wife, Karen; her daughter, Renee Montero Kovach and her husband, Joe; six grandchildren, Rachel, Hannah Rose and Rebecca Kovach; Nico, Jessica and Joey Montero; a brother, Art Gomez, two sisters, Anita Perez and Mary Lena Wagner; and countless nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Rosie worked several years for the school district. She started as an aide at Woodbridge, then moved to Kaseberg, and finally chose her career at Roseville High School working for the counselors. She loved traveling, Disneyland, being at every grandchild event possible, cooking the best tamales, playing Scrabble with her sisters, and jewelry. Most of all, she loved her husband, John. Married in 1956, this November would have marked 60 years. Rarely seen apart, Rosie and John built the kind of marriage all can admire, and we ask for your prayers for our father at this time.
Visitation will be held at Lambert Funeral Home on Thursday, April 21st from 4pm – 7pm with Rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St Rose Catholic Church on Friday, April 22nd at 10am with the graveside service at Roseville Cemetery to follow.
