James Alton Powell

James Alton Powell, age 86, of Utica. Died Friday, April 20, 2018 at Brookdale Senior Living in Utica. James was born August 13, 1931 in Ferndale to Harold & Esther (Lovaas) Powell. He married Barbara Jean December 17, 1977 in New Baltimore, she died March 4, 2015, James will be sadly missed by his children; Brenda Bishop, Jim (Sandy) Powell, Larry (Sharlene) Powell, Randy Powell, Mary (Raul) Martinez, Kathy (Vince) Jugowicz, Karen (Kevin) Dressig, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and siblings; Laureen (James) Kelly, Dorothy Woods. He was pre deceased by his parents, his 1st wife Linda Powell and siblings Robert & Carolyn.

James served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he worked at the GM Tech Center, retiring after more than 25yrs, He was a member of the Roseville VFW Neil-Reid Post. He enjoyed boating RV'ing and played the Organ and Accordion.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 11AM instate at 10:30 at St John Lutheran Church, 51161 Maria St, New Baltimore, MI 48047. Visitation will be Sunday from 3-8PM at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave, Roseville. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Share a memory with the family at www.kaulfuneralhome.com
