

Richard E. St. Mary, age 86, a lifetime resident of Roseville, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Facility. Mr. St. Mary was born in Roseville in the family home on Edward Street on May 23, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in both the European and Pacific theaters. He was also a member of American Legion Post #194 in Lewiston. He was an avid hunter and had many colorful phrases to describe how he took trophy deer. Mr. St. Mary was a 32 year employee of the City of Roseville in the Department of Public Works. He is survived by his loving children Richard M. (Carol) St. Mary, Jill S. (James) Beebe, Vickey A. Potter and Danny (Judy) St. Mary; brothers Robert “Kelly” St. Mary and Willis St. Mary; sister Betty (Wally) Holtz; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Mr. St. Mary was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Eleanor Josephine (nee: Miller - whom he married on March 27, 1945); 2 brothers; and 3 sisters. Funeral 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Kaul Funeral Home, 27830 Gratiot Ave., Roseville. Officiating will be Rev. Sam Sherouse, Pastor of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Armada, MI. Friends may visit the family from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
