Hard to believe, two years already.  Bob was a really good friend to me over the 50 years that I knew him.  He was fun to be around and for a while, he had a great family life, with his three sons and wife JoAnn.  He loved sports and that was how we met, when he was looking for an assit. coach for his son's baseball team, of which my brother in law-Jeff played on.  Even though I moved away for my career, and he moved to Florida, we stayed in touch for most of those 50 years, until his passing.  I think of him on many occasions and smile about the relationship that we had developed.  Bob, you are still missed, my friend and I hope to see you when my time on this earth is done.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sons.  Eddie & Gloria.

It is difficult to even fathom that my great friend, Bob Wirick has been gone one year today.  We were friends for almost fifty years and even though we lived in different states, (Him in Florida and me in 3 states, MO, IL and ND) we always spoke on the phone and visited each other when we could.  Bob was a very good person and I enjoyed his company and friendship for all those years.  His family (3-sons) meant the world to him as did his grandchildren and it was because of him coaching his sons, that we first met, in 1971.  Bob had a funny kind of laugh that certainly highlighted his personality, and I rarely saw him get upset or mad at anyone.  I know just where he is at this moment and I hope that God will allow us to meet up again when my time is up here on earth.  To Bobby, David, Jeff and the entire Wirick Family, your Dad, Robert Donald Wirick was a truly GRAND PERSON and I am proud and honored to call him "My Friend".   Our prayers and thoughts are with the family on this day.

Bobby, David, Jeff and Family,  even after two weeks, it is still a shock to me and all of you as well, that your Dad has passed.  I feel terrible that I couldn't be there for his services today.  It is also unbelievable that we have been friends for more than fifty years, and even though we didn't see each other as often as we both would have liked, we communicated via phone a number of times over the course of the years.  I even visited your Dad on my trips down to Florida.  I also planned on visiting him in June and called him about five weeks ago to see if he was going to be in Ft. Meyers and did he have room for a guy from NY, dressed in a brown leather coat and blue tinted sunglasses.   We talked about that quite often during our phone calls.
Your Dad was a very good man, loved you guys and was a loyal friend.   I would like to get together with all the Wiricks on my next visit to Michigan to CELEBRATE your Dad.  I want you all to know that even though I am not there, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Dad.  Rest in Peace, Bob, and work on getting another ball team ready the next time we are together.  Your friend, Eddie "D" and Gloria Davis.
