To Jaenae, Miles, Libby, and the Culpepper Family,

I had the tremendous privilege of taking care of Ace while he was at Egleston and AMBH. Some of my favorite memories of Ace are from when he was first admitted to us on the AFLAC floor at Egleston. It was during those hard months that I could see Ace's character shine the greatest. No matter how bad he felt, he always made sure everyone was taken care of. Ace was and will always be a tremendously resilient young man. It took a great deal of strength, humility, and endurance to go through the things he did. I know Ace's testimony has personally touched me, as I'm sure it will touch a thousand more!

I continue to believe that Ace is watching over us from heaven cheering us on to finish our race's well. I look forward to seeing him again soon enough!

To Jaenae, Miles, and family—

I had the deep honor of caring for Ace during some of his most difficult days, and I will forever carry the memory of his quiet strength and unwavering faith. Even when his body was weary and the road was long, Ace’s spirit never wavered. He held onto hope with a grip stronger than most, steady and sure, as if he knew something greater was always holding him in return.

What touched me most was not just his resilience, but his deep peace—rooted in a faith that never faltered. No matter the circumstance, Ace faced each moment with grace. It was never loud or showy (unless Tennessee basketball was on); it was steady, humble, and powerful. He inspired me, and everyone around him, to believe even when things didn’t make sense.

Caring for Ace was a privilege. His presence was a quiet light in the PICU, and though he may be gone from our sight, that light will never go out. I will always remember him, and I will always be thankful to have known such a remarkable soul.

To the Culpepper family,

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Ace was such a bright light and made my shifts so memorable, from building Legos together to debating about football. It was very evident that he was loved so very much because of the love he poured into others. He was such a joy to take care of. He was kind, intelligent, brave, and so incredibly special. It was truly an honor to get to be a part of his journey with him and with some of your family. I will always remember you all.

To the Culpepper family,

I was so sorry to hear about Ace's passing. Though I only had the privilege of caring for him for a short time in the ICU, he left a lasting impression on me. His strength, spirit, sense of humor, and the love that surrounded him were unmistakable.

Please know that I've been holding your family in my heart. I hope you can feel how deeply Ace mattered to everyone who crossed his path. Wishing you gentleness and comfort in the days ahead.

To the Culpepper family, 

I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. My heart aches at the physical loss of Ace, but is comforted in knowing that he was so loved during his time with us. It was evident in every interaction I shared with Ace that he grew up with an abundance of love- it was evident in his attitude and eagerness to make his care team laugh even with an ETT, his kind heart that was shown through every "thank you" expressed, and the tears of joy he shed seeing his loved ones around him. Ace was special. Though not physically present, Ace will live in the hearts of so many of us forever, my heart included. I think about you guys very often and want you to know that you and Ace have left a mark on my heart. I'll always remember you guys. 

God loves you dearly, and I have full faith that He will carry you through this difficult time. I pray for peace and healing during this time.
