

Alan Mosley Sorge, age 74, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2024 after a valiant fight with Parkinson’s. He was born on January 27, 1949 to Robert and Margaret Sorge of Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.
Alan was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was known for his kindness, strength and dry sense of humor as well as his love for Jesus. He enjoyed playing golf, woodworking, bowling and tennis. He also collected trophies for gymnastics and pole vaulting in high school as well as for playing football on a ship while in the US Navy.
Throughout his lifetime, Alan achieved many accomplishments as a computer programmer at the US Postal Service earning several commendations for his work and dedication. He touched the lives of countless individuals through his selflessness, hard work and generosity. His incredible example will live on through his children and grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his six children, Joshua (Yanbo) Sorge, Laura (Daniel) Johnson, Linnea Sorge, Christine (Jim) Gettis, Michael (Katherine) Sorge, Mike Erard; 10 grandchildren, Claire, Atticus, Elijah Sorge, Alexandra Johnson, Julia, Lilly, Delilah, Penny Gettis, Anders and Grace Sorge; brother, Russell (Leslie) Sorge; sister, Karen (Mark) Anzalone; nephews, Stephen, Eric (Denise) Sorge, James and William May as well as many friends, neighbors and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Sorge and parents, Robert Christian and Margaret Mosley Sorge.
A Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 3 at Roswell Funeral Home to celebrate Alan's life and honor his contributions to our world. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.

Alan’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his life and legacy will forever be cherished.
