Alexander Rager, 32, of Athens, GA entered into God’s eternal care on February 26, 2025. He graduated from The University of Georgia with honors and worked in financial technology. He was brilliant and funny and was a fiercely loyal friend. Alex gave unwavering support to causes he believed would help others and his community. He treasured Christopher Nolan movies, rooting for the New York Mets, and his beloved dog Cooper. He was deeply loved and will be forever remembered.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Arlyn Rus, whom he loved with all his heart. Alex is survived by his loving family – his parents Jonathan and Kathleen Rager; sisters Jordan and Katelyn Rager; brothers Jack, Sean, and Scott Rager; maternal grandmother Claire Rus; paternal grandparents Russell and Jane Rager, along with many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, GA 30076 followed by a funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery following the service. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Broken Shackle Ranch in Davisboro, GA or to Athens Humane Society.
