Barbara Hansen (Gregory), age 70, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on March 28, 2025, next to her beloved husband. She was born on July 17, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice Gregory, as well as her sister, Lynn Brew. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 40 years, Jeff Hansen; her daughter, Kristy Young, married to David Young; her grandchildren, Connor and Aria Young; her brother, Bob Gregory; and numerous other cherished family members and friends.
An avid reader and beachcomber, Barbara devoted her time and enthusiasm to raising her only child and doting on her grandkids. Cup of hot tea in hand, she could often be found caring for her dogs, Mac and Ruby, or tending to her hummingbird garden and feeders. She had an innate ability to connect with others- a real empath who was always willing to listen and offer her support.
Visitation will be held on April 27th, 2025 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at noon at Roswell Funeral Home & Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum. This will be a celebration of Barbara’s life and the warmth she brought to the world. Since this is a celebration of the vibrant life she led, feel free to dress in more colorful, comfortable clothing.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity she loved most, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
