

Carolyn Margaret Pons Schloemer passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 5, 1940 to Robert and Polly Pons in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She resided in Jacksonville, Florida for most of her childhood and young adult years where she attended Bishop Kenny High School. In 1979 she moved to the Atlanta area where she lived until her death.
Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, “Nanny” to 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband of 43 years; Robert “Bob” Schloemer. She is survived by her four children Lynn Allen Norton (Jim) of Valrico, Florida, Bob Allen (Sue) of Jacksonville, Florida, Kimberly Hanna (Brad) of Cumming, Georgia and Kristin Schloemer Bryant (Roger) of Smyrna, Georgia. She will be deeply missed by her brother-in-law Kurt Schloemer and her eight grandchildren Matt Estes (Leighanne), Bradley Norton, Danielle Allen-Decker, Kim Allen-Nicosia, Nate Hanna, Wesley Hanna, Libby Hanna and Rowan Bryant plus her six great-grandchildren.
In 1958 Carolyn began working for Travelers Insurance as a file clerk and moved up in the ranks to become an insurance underwriter. She retired from Travelers after a successful career of 35 years. After her first retirement, she nobly assisted her husband of 43 years running Roswell Ace Hardware until they both fully retired in 2000. She was an avid sports fan often cheering on the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, Florida Gators and more. Carolyn loved taking care of her loved ones by cooking, reading, gardening, hosting parties, and doting on her husband.
