Desire Brenda Knight

Desire entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 23, 2025. 

Desire accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She was baptized at Aenon Missionary Baptist Church in Rochester, New York. 

Desire’s faith in God was always evident, all who knew her, knew her faith to be strong and present. As she battled her illness, her faith strengthened. 

Desire graduated Class of 1985 from John Marshall High School in Rochester, NY. After graduation, she attended Bryant & Stratton College. She was also a licensed Esthetician.

Desire was a curious learner, always reading, asking questions, forming opinions, and most of all sharing her perspective. Desire’s favorite things in life were her plants and skin care. Plants adorned her home where she treated them like family, doting endlessly over them. 

Desire embodied the word "Mother" in her touch, her care, her words, her wisdom, her love, her patience, and her guidance. 

Desire leaves a legacy of devotion to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Wanza Lee Knight; nephew, Jaquan Lee Barley. She leaves to treasure her precious memory her son, her pride, joy, and love Je-Vontae (Pudden) Ragsdale. They formed a special bond that will never be broken; mother, Betty Knight of Seffner, Fl; brother, Darrell Knight of Tampa, Fl; sisters, Jonatra (Renee) Knight of Tampa, Fl; Aneatha (Cookie) Knight of Riverview, Fl; a host of aunts, one uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
