

Doris’s unwavering faith in God and the love of her family and friends gave her strength throughout her life. She did not fear her passing but instead trusted in God and embraced every opportunity to cherish her time with her beloved dogs, a loving family, and cherished friends.
She had a successful career as a Business Administrator, working with Georgia Tech, the National Bank of Georgia, First Union Bank, IBM, and State Farm agencies.
Doris leaves behind a loving family, including her dogs, Piper and Peppy; sisters, Nina M. Bowman of Rocky Face, GA, and A. Jeanette Sluder of Chatsworth, GA; sisters-in-law, Nona Lunsford of Calhoun, GA, and Linda Jones of Chatsworth, GA; stepchildren, Tracy and her husband Mark of Atlanta, GA, Dana and her husband Scott of Macon, GA, and Tom and his wife Heather of Chattanooga, TN; as well as many treasured step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. A Hammond; parents, Demetrius William Lunsford and Opal Mae (Rogers) Lunsford; and brothers, G. Edwin Lunsford, T. Grover Lunsford, Arvil Faye Lunsford, and Demetrius William Lunsford Jr.
A visitation will be held on March 8, 2025, from 1:00-3:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd, Roswell, GA 30076. She will be laid to rest at Green Lawn Cemetery in a private interment, per her wishes.
