Mrs. Doris R. Parker

Doris R. Parker passed away peacefully on December 28th, 2011 in the comfort of her home. Doris was born in Palestine, IL to Arthur and Louise Leggitt. She married her beloved husband, Allen Parker, who preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage.

Doris was a woman of many talents; from packing parachutes during World War II to devoting herself to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She created many wonderful memories. She was a strong and determined woman and lived her life to the fullest. She has passed her courage and strength on to everyone that knew her through life lessons and by example. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving Doris are her children, Richard and Mary Ann Parker of Portland OR, Kevin and Kathy Schaffer of Utica, NY, Kevin and Laura Parker of Alpharetta, GA and Sheryll Parker of Alpharetta, GA. She was also blessed with her cherished grandchildren, Joel and wife Jennifer Parker, Rachel Parker, Aaron and wife Claire Parker, Nicholas Parker, Mathew Parker, Carrie and husband Chris Patterson, Sean Patterson, Christopher and wife Amanda Deen and Scott Deen. Her legacy will be seen in her nine great grandchildren.

Her life will be celebrated on January 7th starting with a memorial service at 2:00pm at the Roswell Presbyterian Church. There will be a gathering of friends and family at Doris’ home immediately following the service.
