Edgar Eugene Ward, Jr. (Gene Ward), June 24,1920-December 18, 2016, has passed away at the age of 96 in Roswell, Ga. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by the family. Mr. Ward is a WWII veteran who served our country in the US Navy. As a career, he worked for the Capital City Country Club for 48 years and most of those years as Club Manager. Mr. Ward is survived by his daughters, Diana Fletcher (Jim) and Janell Wright (Tom). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kelley Fletcher Sullivan (Mark), Amy Fletcher Bitler (Chris) and Jeff Wright (Daniell'). The surviving great-grandchildren are Madeleine, Mitchell, Tyler, Jake, Zach, Cameron, Christopher and Caiden. Mr Ward is preceded in death by his wife, Marion Ward, who passed in 2001. Arrangements have been made at Roswell Funeral Home 950 Mansell Rd Roswell, Ga 30076. The visitation is from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 and the funeral service is at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs, Ga (non-processional). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
