Mrs. Ernestine D. Hayes

Ernestine D. Hayes, of Roswell, entered into eternal rest Sept. 7, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Ben S. Hayes, Jr. Survivors are sons Richard Hayes and Sterling Hayes of Atlanta, daughters Christina Evans of Atlanta and Kathy Hayes of Lilburn, grandsons Jason Zurita of Roswell, Brandon Zurita of Woodstock, Ben Hayes of Atlanta and great-granddaughter Sophie Zurita of Canton. Additional survivors are several nieces and a nephew. Mrs. Hayes attended East Carolina University and was retired from the Small Business Administration where she received numerous performance awards. She was a member of Northbrook UMC where she served many years as an office volunteer and was the official scribe for baptismal certificates, honorary and memorial contributions, hymnals and the book of contributions for the new sanctuary built in 1998. She was also a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Friendship SS class and Naomi UMW Circle of Northbrook UMC. She served on the Board of Directors for Crossville Station Condo Assoc. for several years. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 5-7pm at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., Roswell, GA. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Northbrook United Methodist Church, 11225 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075. Roswell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
