Gene Autry Grissom

He was a graduate of Meigs County High School, Class of 1953, and a college graduate of Tennessee Tech – Class of 1957, BS in Agronomy. Following Graduation, he trained at the United States Army Training Center (Infantry) Fort Jackson, S.C in May 1958 – served in The U.S. Army Reserve 4 years.

Gene’s successful career as a salesman, included Master Mix, Central Soya, Cagle Company and Gold Kist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Opal and Calvin Grissom and stepson John Andrews.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Tuck, stepsons Steve Andrews and Robert Prince of Alpharetta, GA. Daughter, Lynn Saunders (Randy) of Ooltewah, TN. Four grandchildren, Leah and Alexis Andrews, Abby Campbell, and Casey Vassey. One great grandson, Sutton and second great grandson, Linc, coming in May. His surviving siblings are sisters, Nell Jones (Johnny) of Georgetown, Marjorie McCurry of McMinnville and brother, Kermit (Barbara) of Decatur, several nieces and nephews.

Due to the current health crisis, a private celebration of life service will be held.
