George Christopher “Chris” Herrin, age 51, of Roswell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Chris was born in Mobile, Alabama, a son to the late George Kenneth Herrin, Jr. and Janet Pierce Roberts.
Chris was a graduate of Troy University where he played tennis and received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. For the past 11 years, he was a dedicated Sales Manager and very much-loved member of the FirstPro team. Chris loved playing ALTA and USTA tennis and cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, playing trivia as part of the longstanding “Bourbon Cowboys” team, trying new foods and drinks, and just spending time with his great friends and family. He loved to travel with Karen. Their most memorable trip was to Greece just a few years ago with their longtime friends. Friends say that Chris was the type of guy who would drop anything to help them out in times of need as his big heart extended to everyone. He loved animals and never met a cat he didn’t like, which was especially true of his cats, Logan, Jill, and Pretzel. He was an amazing man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed for his quick-witted humor, his smile, his infectious laugh, and his generous, kind soul.
Chris is survived by the love of his life and best friend, Karen Smith; his stepmother, Kay Herrin of Orange Beach, Alabama; stepfather, David Roberts of Mobile, Alabama; one brother, Andy Roberts of Mobile, Alabama; as well as several extended family members and friends.
A Celebration of Life honoring Chris will be conducted at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Atlanta Ronald McDonald House Charities, www.armhc.org, or PAWS Atlanta, www.pawsatlanta.org.
