Henry was born on October 26, 1943, in Macon, Georgia. He was a graduate of Dothan (Alabama) High School (Class of 1961). Following high school, he attended the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1961-1968, where he earned a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental/Sanitary Engineering. Later, in 1983, he attended Georgia State University where he earned a Master of Business Administration.
Henry worked as a Civil/Environmental Engineer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the entirety of his professional career. After retirement, he worked for himself as a real estate investor.
Henry was a proud and enthusiastic fan of anything Georgia Tech related. Following and attending Georgia Tech sporting events was his favorite thing to do. If it had been a legal option, he probably would have liked to have been buried underneath the Georgia Tech football field. In addition, he enjoyed playing bridge, feeding and watching birds, reading and researching, listening to music, attending concerts, and following politics. But, above all, he very much enjoyed spending time with his dogs and going for walks and other outings with them. They were literally always by his side. When he would go to a drive thru restaurant, he would buy hamburgers for the dogs too.
Henry also had a soft spot in his heart for friends and friends of his sons who were in need, helping them out in any way he could, sometimes even giving them a place to stay until they got on their feet. Even to this day, one still refers to him as "Pops". He was a loving husband, caring father, and a loyal and generous friend. He will be missed.
Arrangements will be announced at a later date.
