

Jim was born on September 25, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the only child of Gilbert and Patricia Greenhill. After graduating from The University School, he received his B.A. in History from the University of Virginia in 1960. During his time in Charlottesville, Jim also played football for the Cavaliers. After graduating, Jim was enlisted in the US Army and served as a medical corpsman and medical specialist. Several years later after discharging from the Army, he met and married the love of his life, Linda Jean Reisenfeld. Jim had a long and successful career in hospital management, which he retired from in 1997 as the Director of Food and Nutrition for Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta, GA. In retirement, Jim enjoyed volunteering over the years for a number of organizations in various capacities, including serving as the President of Temple Kehillat Chaim and volunteer on their finance committee, volunteer probation officer for Cobb County including volunteer for their youth diversion program, volunteer at misc. polling places in Cobb County, and was most recently appointed to the Cobb County Board of Equalization.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father of three, and grandfather of three (soon to be four). Survived by his wife, Linda, of 47 years; daughter, Rebecca Greenhill Hollis; sons, Brett (Megan) Greenhill and Geoffrey (Amanda) Greenhill; and grandchildren, Donovan Hollis, Emma Hollis, and Jordan Greenhill.
Memorial service will be held at Temple Kehillat Chaim, Roswell, GA at 11:00 AM on Sunday, December 23rd. Jim will be laid to rest at Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell, GA at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 24th following a brief processional leaving from the Roswell Funeral Home at 9:30 AM.
