Jamie graduated from Cherokee High school in 2012. She joined the United States Army on May 7, 2013 as a 91E Allied Trade Specialist. She served honorably and with passion for just under three years before being honorably retired due to service related injuries. Since retiring from the Army in 2016 Jamie held jobs that centered on her passions –welding, helping animals and people and being outdoors. She worked as a skilled welder, cared for animals as the Regional Sales Representative at Pet Super Market, enjoyed working as the Lead Technician for Weedman and more recently delivered for Fed Ex. She was dearly loved and admired by her coworkers and customers.
In her off time Jamie enjoyed being outside and had a magnetic pull in her to want to be by the water. She loved the ocean and spending time at the beach with her friends and family. She was a proud and happy mother to her three fur babies – two cats – Thor and Sylvester and her one sweet service dog, Scrappy. Jamie had laid her other service animal, a beautiful bunny named Precious, to rest in May of 2018. Jamie enjoyed challenging herself with word searches, Rubik’s cubes and riddles. She enjoyed working at a local haunted house every year in the fall, watching horror or scary films, fostering and caring for animals, playing with her niece and nephews, reading an array of books, and listening to a wide range of music from country to emo to hip hop and hard rock. Jamie was a talented artist who welded beautiful sculptures, painted and repurposed furniture and could create masterpieces with her imagination and keen eye. Jamie was also an exceptional cook and often spent her free time cooking for herself and her loved ones.
