Jeanne Marie Templeton, age 92, of Marietta, GA passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, January 28, 2022. Jeanne was born to Alice and Edward Dexter on August 19, 1929 and was raised in Meadville, PA.
After graduating from Meadville High School, she met and married Robert E. Templeton in 1950 and had two loving daughters, Debbie and Anne.
Jeanne worked at the University of Chicago for over 20 years in both the English and Philosophy Departments and during that time completed her B.A. degree in English from Mundelein College in Chicago.
Throughout her life, Jeanne had many interests including reading, traveling, painting and, music. She was involved in League of Women Voters, Meadville Historical Society, several book clubs and more recently enjoyed Bible Study, Art class and Garden Club.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert on January 1, 2013. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Jerry) Greil, Anne (Joe) Romano; grandchildren Taylor, Joey (Nicole), Brian, Regina (Andrew) and Natalie; great-grandchildren Camilla, Oscar and Mortimer.
A memorial service will be held on February 24, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Legacy Room at Sterling Estates East Cobb, 4220 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30068. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Family Services, 213 W Center St., Meadville, PA 16335 (814)337-8450.
