Joan was a beloved wife to Jay Murphy. She was known for her welcoming personality, amazing cooking and hosting talents and her dedication to the South Carolina Gamecocks, Atlanta Falcons and her family. Joan’s whole world revolved around her husband, son and daughter. She was so unbelievably proud to be a Gigi to her grandson, Colton, who was also her birthday twin. She also loved her “Son-in-Love,” Zach, as her own.
Throughout her life, Joan achieved many accomplishments as a Stay-at-Home Mom for many years and Realtor for Caldwell Banker, until she retired in 2019. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her volunteer work at her children’s school and their activities growing up, as well as her involvement with many clubs and groups within her neighborhood, Crooked Creek. Joan took great pride in hosting her friends and family and put on the best parties and holiday celebrations.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Jay Murphy; daughter, Jennifer Murphy Dyga (Zachary); son, Jared Murphy; grandson, Colton Murphy Dyga; mother, Peggy Swanson Teague; brother, Chuck Teague and father-in-Law, Marshall Murphy and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Franklin Teague.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Roswell Funeral Home to celebrate Joan's life and honor her contributions to our world.
Joan will be laid to rest in Green Lawn Cemetery & Mausoleum, 950 Mansell Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076.
Joan's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy will forever be cherished.
