It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joann Lanier Blount, aged 84, on March 14, 2025. Born on October 18, 1941, in a small town in Louisiana to Lilly Muriel Lanier and John Henry Lanier. Joann's life was one filled with love, creativity, and dedication to her family.
Joann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for her deep love of music, dancing, and the beach, finding joy in every rhythm and wave. Whether playing the piano, dancing to her favorite tunes, or walking along the shore, she embraced life’s simple pleasures with grace and enthusiasm. An avid reader and gardener, she cherished the quiet moments that allowed her to connect with the world around her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Blount. Joann is survived by her only child, Jacqueline Richart, and son-in-law, Charlie Richart; her granddaughter, Alexandra Richart, and grandson, James Richart.
Joann's legacy will live on through her family, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
