Joyce is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Joseph Baker; her daughter, Erica Patrick; son-in-law, Russ Patrick; grandchildren, Madison (15) and Jackson (11); her brothers: Dwight, Steve, and David Nixon. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Roger and Stanley Nixon.
Joyce was born on May 5th, 1943, in Waukegan, Illinois to Audie and Myrtice Nixon. She graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton AL, in 1955. She married Joseph Baker in 1979 in Atlanta, GA.
After a career in finance at The Southern Company, Joyce enjoyed retirement traveling the world with her friends and family, reading, and enjoying a good happy hour. She was an amazing wife, mother, and the best Nana to her grandchildren. She was loved by so many.
The family will receive family and friends on May 13th, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Roswell Funeral Home for a memorial gathering to remember Joyce.
