Joyce was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, affectionately known to many as “Gigi.” She will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering support of those she loved. She had a special gift for showing up when it mattered most—often the first to bring a warm meal or offer comfort during times of hardship.
Her faith was central to her life, and she found great joy singing first alto in the church choir. Joyce also delighted in a good game of Scrabble and treasured time spent with family and friends. Among her many accomplishments, she took great pride in raising her three daughters. She also earned an award in home economics and graduated from Massey Business College, reflecting her lifelong dedication to learning and service.
Joyce is survived by her beloved husband, Dean Long; her three daughters, Donna (Long) Robinson, Kristi (Long) Bobo, and Leslie (Long) Gober; her eight grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren, all of whom were a constant source of joy in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger sister, Scarlett. She is also survived by her siblings, Jerrell Wright and Kathy Odom.
A funeral service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held on January 10, 2026, at Roswell Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m.
