Julia was born on July 11th, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the oldest daughter of Donald K. and Carylee (Traylor) Cozart. In her early years, and due to her father’s career in civil engineering, she, her parents, and younger sister and brother, Suzanne and David, relocated frequently around the Midwest.
Julia graduated from Muscatine High School, Muscatine, Iowa in 1977. After graduation she attended Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia and was a proud member of the Delta Gamma sorority. In 1981, Julia’s career path found her attending the Operating Room Technology School, Kansas City, Missouri after which she began her working career as an Operating Room Tech. The following year, Julia married her first husband, Robert Barnwell Motz with whom she had four children: Jonathan Elliot, Robert Andrew, Kari Ellen, and Anna Katherine. Julia stayed home to raise her children through their early childhood until she embarked on a career in information technology during which she met her current husband, Robert E. Miller. On July 11th, 1998, Julia and Robert married and their two families, over time and through her unending love and generous, gracious spirit, blended into one.
In addition to being a loving, wonderful mother to all of her eight children, Julia was an empowering business professional and leader. Beginning in 1996, Julia began her stellar career as an Executive Recruiter at The Lucas Group, Atlanta Georgia, later becoming a business owner. Julia was not only highly respected in her field, she also consistently earned awards for her unsurpassed skill for candidate selection and management of her many diverse clients. Early on, she was a member of the Million Dollar club at The Lucas Group.
In 2018, Julia founded The JKM Group (JKMG) - a Global Talent Acquisition and Consulting Service - where she was the guiding light and heart of the firm as its Founding Partner and CEO until her passing.
In life, Julia was dedicated to her family. She was an extraordinarily loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother and she treated everyone she met as family. She loved traveling and shopping and maintained an avid interest in the field of paranormal research and true crime mysteries.
Julia lit up every room with her warm, glowing presence. She will always be loved and cherished by all those whose lives she touched.
Julia is survived by her husband Robert, their eight children: Taylor Lauren Miller, Aaron Dahlgren Miller, Jonathon Elliot Motz, Whitney Morgan Miller, Robert Andrew Motz, Dane R Miller, Chelsea B Miller, and Anna Katherine Motz, as well as by her five grandchildren: Amaleena, Lucy, Porter, Lily, and Savannah.
