

Laura Ramsay Browning, a beloved mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of God and her community, passed away on October 27, 2023. She was born on September 22, 1932, in Denver, Colorado, the eldest of three children, to a military family. She was an "Army Brat," and her early life was filled with adventure and diversity.
Laura's passion for education led her to graduate from William and Mary College, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. She was not only a dedicated student but also a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, reflecting her commitment to scholarship and leadership.
After college, Laura married the love of her life, Philip Browning, and together, they raised a loving family of five children. She was a natural leader and nurturer, instilling in her children the values of love, compassion, and the importance of education. Her devotion to her family knew no bounds.
Laura was a faithful Episcopalian and a pillar of her community. She served as the head of the Altar Guild at St. David’s Episcopal Church, where her commitment and dedication were evident to all who knew her. Her tireless work in the church community touched the lives of many, and her legacy as a servant of God will be remembered fondly.
Laura is survived by her children, Philip (Leigh), Allan (Debra), Jean (Charles), Charles (Jöel); grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathan, Macy, Katelyn, Kerry, Chelsea, Chad, Philip, Caitlyn, Tara, and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Harper, Marley, Cecelia, Oona, and Layla; and siblings, Mary and Helen. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband, Philip; son, Edward; and parents, Allan and Laura Ramsay. Their spirits are now reunited in eternity.
A memorial service to celebrate Laura's life will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church on November 21st. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. David's in honor of Laura's dedication to her faith and community.
Laura Ramsay Browning was a woman of faith, love, and strength. She touched the lives of many and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
