Lois Marie Gibson

Lois “Marie” Gibson passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 27, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on December 13, 1941, she was raised as an only child on a small farm in rural Maryland. She dearly loved both her parents and was particularly close with her mother, who lived her faith with grace and conviction.

Marie was a strong willed and proud woman with a caring heart, who was fiercely protective of the ones she loved. She embraced life fully and never minded being the center of attention — in fact, she often relished it.

She loved animals and shared her home with many over the years. Music was also a constant in her life — she had a natural singing voice that brought joy to those lucky enough to hear it.

Marie is now reunited with her husband, Marshall, who passed away in 2004. She is survived by her three daughters and their families, including five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will remember her as spirited, opinionated in the best way, and always embracing the opportunity to celebrate life.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private remembrance in Roswell, GA, her home of many years. Those who knew her are encouraged to honor her memory by turning up the music, telling a favorite story, or supporting a local animal shelter — all things she would have appreciated.
