

Lowell Ray Blankenship, 95 of Alpharetta, Ga peacefully passed on December 28th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Blankenship and their daughter, Lori Carta. He is survived by his son, Allen Blankenship (Valerie), his son in law Dori Carta, and his grandchildren and beloved family Reeves (Kerry and Ellie), Emily (Jonathan), Rebecca, Nicholas, Matthew and Rachel.
Lowell, known by many as Bumpy, was born in Richwood, West Virginia and was one of seven siblings to include Lotus, Maureen, Penny, Phyllis, Wayne, and Weldon. Lowell spent his life rooted in family and community. He was enlisted in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957. During his time in the service, he married Joyce and they moved to Miami where he attended the University of Miami and graduated in 1960. They moved to the Atlanta area in 1970. Lowell worked for many years as an accountant and retried with AT&T. He was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished a good laugh and time spent with those he loved. He enjoyed going to any sporting event, especially Georgia Tech. A true gentleman in every way, Lowell will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
There will be a visitation held at Roswell Funeral Home on Friday, January 2nd at 1 pm and service at 2pm. Those wishing to honor Lowell’s memory may do so through sending plants and flowers to the funeral home and sharing memories with the family.
