Luke was born on March 17th, 2003, to David and Michelle (McIntyre) Bolton. He grew up in Johns Creek, where he was known for his sweet nature, big heart and his ability to brighten any room he entered. He was a loving son, brother, cousin and friend and is cherished deeply by his family and all who knew him.
After graduating from Northview High School, Luke attended the University of Tennessee, and shared that experience with his brother McIntyre (Mac), whom he adored. The bond he shared with his siblings, Brooke, Mac and Ansley, was extraordinary; they adored him just as much as he adored them. Their time together-whether at school, at home, at Clemson or Tennessee football games or on family trips-was filled with laughter, inside jokes, and unwavering love and support.
Those who knew Luke will remember his kindness, his gentle spirit, and his way of making others feel seen and cared for. He had a gift for listening without judgement, treating everyone with grace and viewing the world through humble eyes.
He loved Tennessee football, his golden retrievers, golfing, and hanging out with his friends and family and putting smiles on their faces. He also had a deep passion for helping kids with special needs, which he fulfilled as a counselor at several camps during his studies to be a recreational therapist. These moments reflected the joy and warmth he brought into the world.
The joy Luke showed the world masked the struggles with depression that he faced every day for the past few years. Depression is a serious illness, not a reflection of his worth or the love that surrounded him. His family hopes his story encourages compassion, openness and support for those living with mental health challenges.
Luke is survived by his parents David and Michelle Bolton, his siblings Brooke, Mac and Ansley, his grandfather John Bolton, his step-grandmother Elizabeth Bolton, as well as too many aunts, uncles and cousins to name, and many friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Irene Bolton, and grandparents Charles and Sue (Shippy) McIntyre.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 10:30AM at St. Benedict Catholic Church at 11045 Parsons Road, Johns Creek, Georgia 30097. A reception will follow the mass in the Parish Life Center at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Will to Live: https://www.willtolive.org/donate-luke?utm_source=ig&utm_mediumsocial&utm_content=link_in_bio in Luke’s memory, to help others who are facing similar struggles.
Above all, Luke will be remembered for his love, his light, and the immeasurable joy he brought to his family and friends. His life, though far too short, left an enduring mark on every heart he touched.
