Originally from Indiana, Martha met and fell in love with William (Bill) Parker. They eventually married and moved to Atlanta where they started a family and created a beautiful life together. On Sundays, they took long drives in their car to get ice cream, listened to music, and enjoyed each other's company. They had two amazing children, Steven (Steve) Parker and Elizabeth (Betsy) McCurry whom they also made many wonderful memories with.
Martha was an avid lover of crossword puzzles and sudoku. It was quite incredible what she could accomplish when given a book of challenging puzzles. She also enjoyed staying up late and watching TV. One of her greatest joys was sharing stories with her grandchildren about her life growing up on the farm, her family and her friends.
Everyone who knew her loved her, and she never met a stranger. Friends and family brought her joy and she touched many lives during her time here on earth. Whether talking on the phone or writing letters, she always had much to say, advice to give and was admired by all.
Along with her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband Bill, and her son Steve. She is survived by her daughter Betsy, grand daughters Emily and Kate (Brandon and Dan) and precious great grandsons Parker and Landon.
A private ceremony will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society in Martha’s honor.
