Mike was an enthusiastic traveler who enjoyed visiting new places and experiencing new things. He’d traveled to countries all over the world, learning different customs and languages, and meeting new people. He was a voracious reader and loved a good, strong cup of black coffee.
Mike also loved sports. All sports. He knew facts and statistics for nearly every player and loved talking about his favorite teams, especially the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Janet. Together they had two beloved dogs, Bubba who passed earlier this year and Dixie who was always at his side. He was also a proud father and doting grandfather. Mike was a wonderful dad to his three girls and encouraged them to live life with adventure and passion too. But his grandchildren were truly the light of his life; he took pride in their accomplishments and treasured every photo and memory he made with them.
