A Tribute to a Remarkable Life
Mithkal Asfour passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025 at the age of 71. He was born on August 16, 1954, in Amman, Jordan.
While words cannot fully capture the depth of our loss, we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the life of an extraordinary man who touched so many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Mithkal’s journey took him from the heart of the Middle East to England, and eventually the United States, where he built a life grounded in integrity and compassion. He received his master’s degree in construction engineering from the University of Michigan in 1978, a testament to his dedication and perseverance. While at the University of Michigan, he also played goalkeeper for the Wolverines soccer team, demonstrating his calm under pressure, dedication, and steady presence for those around him.
Throughout his life, he devoted himself to caring for his family and helping others, always ready with sound advice, a warm embrace, or a hearty laugh that could brighten the darkest of days. His generosity and strength set an enduring example for all who knew him. He cherished time spent with family and friends, whether gathered around the dinner table, cheering on his favorite teams, or sharing stories that will be retold for generations. He had a unique gift for making everyone feel valued and heard, and his encouragement inspired us to pursue our dreams and live with purpose.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Rogers; his four children, Rana Asfour, Jana Grant, Rifat Asfour, and Mired Asfour (Maxine); his three beloved grandchildren; and his sister, Maha Asfour (Khalil Ghosheh). His family will forever hold him in their hearts, and the legacy of his love and the memories we shared will remain a source of comfort and strength.
We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating his life. Details of the memorial service will be shared with friends and family. Though we mourn his passing, we also rejoice in the profound impact he made on so many lives. Rest in peace. Your love will guide us always.
