Natalie was born in Hempstead, New York, where she attended Sacred Heart Academy and Secretarial School. She was a founding member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Roswell, Georgia and was a humble servant to her community as she volunteered in her neighborhood, church, and school library. Mrs. Roach was a Parks and Recreation architect and activist and was instrumental in establishing the Chattahoochee National Park and signed with U.S. Director of National Parks on the opening day at the ribbon cutting ceremony. She was also one of the first women to receive a Coast Guard Seamanship Certificate.
In her free time, Natalie enjoyed hunting and fishing with her father, Charles, and together they raised championship beagles for Hunt Club. She loved to go motorcycle riding, boating, and spending much of her time outdoors. She was an incredible cross stitchery and won several Blue Ribbon Awards. Mrs. Roach enjoyed cooking for her friends and family and vacationing at her second home in Abaco Bahamas. She had a keen eye for artwork based in nature and appreciated paintings of owls, turtles, frogs, whales, dogs, and mushrooms.
Mrs. Natalie Jane Roach is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee Roach; mother, Francis Oster; and father, Charles Oster.
She is survived by her loving children, Patti Norcom, Michael Roach, Christopher Roach, and Theresa McGough; her grandchildren include Beth Carroll, Catherine Norcom, Timothy Norcom “TJ”, Ian Roach, Brian Roach, Jackson Roach, Will McGough, and Dennis McGough; and great grandchildren, Keegan Norcom, Claudia Hesse, and Thad Carroll.
A Viewing is to be held Friday, October 23, 2020 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Roswell Funeral Home located at 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, GA 30076.
Services will be held on October 24, 2020 from 10:30-12:00 at St. Andrew Catholic Church located at 675 Riverside Rd. Roswell, GA 30075.
Immediately following the Service will be the Burial at Green Lawn Cemetery located at 950 Mansell Rd. Roswell, GA 30076.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Chattahoochee Nature Center at 9135 Willeo Rd. Roswell, GA 30075. 770-992-2055
