Norma Lee Cain Brown, age 86, went home to the Lord on Sunday, October 4th, 2020. She was born in Norfolk, Virginia and lived her whole life there. She worked as a bookkeeper for an accounting firm and when she retired, Norma packed her bags and courageously moved to Georgia 21 years ago to start a new life. She claimed it was to be close to her daughter, but it was actually for her grandsons. She had them for overnights, picked them up from school, got them started on their homework, attended all their school and sports events, and shared all birthdays and holidays. She spent most Sundays going to church and lunch with both her immediate family and her church family. For her, life was about family.
For many years, she was heavily involved with the Dorothy C. Benson Senior Center in Sandy Springs, taking exercise classes several times a week, teaching knitting classes, and having lunch with her circle of friends. After retiring again, she became the part-time bookkeeper and knitting teacher for kids and their mothers at her beloved church where she attended for 14 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond P. and Ida K. Cain and by her son Jeffrey L. Brown. She is survived by her daughter Marguerite L. Wright; daughter-in-law Karen H. Brown; daughter of her heart Diane Palmer; grandsons Nathan H. Wright (wife: Alexis) and Aaron J. Wright; and great-grandchildren Klair Rose and Brennen Lee Joseph.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Chris Stovall is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Roswell Funeral Home in Roswell, Georgia. Visitation with the family will start at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rosewood Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
