Peggy Ruth McClain Blum passed away on May 21, 2017 in Suwanee, GA. She was born in Brownwood, Texas on September 29, 1929 and then moved as a child with her family to Waxahachie, Texas where she met and married the love of her life. She was married to Robert Joseph Blum for 64 years. She was a loving wife, supportive mother and fun loving friend. She went from a child who never left Texas to one who traveled the world and lived in many cities, states and countries. But you could take the girl out of Texas but never Texas out of the girl. She was known for her creative ability to make wedding cakes for friends, family and others as well as her selfless volunteering at St. Joseph’s Hospital with her longtime friend Alice Malone. She is well remembered for her favorite response to all challenges and adversities by saying with a smile, “I’m still here”. After making 24 moves we rejoice in the fact that she is re-joining her Texas boyfriend in a great field of bluebonnets.
She is survived by son Steven Blum, his wife Donna and daughter Karen Davidson, her husband Dennis, niece Aileen VanZant, cousin August Luedeke, as well as 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Roswell Funeral Home, on May 23, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral Service will also be held at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Road Roswell Ga. 30076 on May 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm with a graveside service to follow.
