Ruby K. West

Ever steadfast in her faith, Mrs. Ruby K. West, age 100, of Roswell, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Ruby was born on December 17, 1918 in North Carolina, a daughter of the late Banks Holt Wilkerson and Cynthia Myrtle Wilkerson.

Ruby spent majority of her youth and adult life in North Carolina. There she worked at Rockfish Mebane Yarn Mill, from where she would eventually retire. In her later years, Ruby and her beloved husband Lacy West made their way to Georgia to be closer to their two children and five grandchildren. Once the two settled in their Cherokee County home, they began working for Krogh Cabinet Shop together. They both were devoted members of Roswell Presbyterian Church for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed being involved in church activities, working in her vegetable garden, and making those around her laugh. Ruby could always be found with a smile on her face and great joy in her heart to share with everyone around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; Ruby will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lacy West; one granddaughter, Cherry Vrzal; and ten of her siblings.

She is survived by her two sons, Bruce West, wife Barbara, of Woodstock, Georgia, and Larry West, wife Dee, of Roswell, Georgia; one brother, Stephen Wilkerson; four grandchildren, Gregory West, Dedrea Fazzio, Brandon West, and Lisa Martin; eight great-grandchildren, Joseph, Brynn, Meira, Merissa, Luke, Sophia, Lacy, and Harrison. Several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Ruby West will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, January 4, 2019 in the Historic Sanctuary of Roswell Presbyterian Church. Interment services will in the Green Lawn Cemetery of Roswell, Georgia.
