Sebastiaan (Bas) W. Q. Hofland

Deceased on May 14th 2012 in Atlanta, GA (USA)

Bas knew at a young age what he wanted and resolutely charted the course of his life. In a businesslike and analytical manner he went straight for his target. Always methodical, fast and dedicated. His passion and intensity drove him to many beautiful achievements in his short life, both in the private and the professional realm. Bas finished his studies in the USA, decided to settle there and found in Caroline the love of his life. Both their careers progressed well, they found a wonderful house in Suwanee and they were blessed with the birth of their daughter Nicole. The role of family man fitted Bas like a glove. He thoroughly enjoyed his Caroline and Nicole and loved to do many things with them at home and on the road. Bas was a great host and remarkably loyal to his family, friends and colleagues for whom the door was always open and to whom he was generous with his advice or good counsel. Bas was balanced, content with what he had achieved and full of plans for the future. Because of his illness he was forced to change his course suddenly, but he did not admit defeat. He faced the battle head-on and succeeded to make maximum use of the time he had left. Until the very last he stayed in control, dedicated

to his family and full of spirit. How much we would have loved to keep Bas in our midst for a lot longer.
