Shirley Crouch Bryan passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours on August 18, 2025 with a multitude of health issues. She was at peace with being reunited with loved ones who had passed away before her and with seeing the face of her Savior, Jesus.
Shirley was born in Jacksonville, FL to George and Hattie Crouch on December 19, 1936. She and her two older brothers, Albert and Clyde, grew up close to each other – a friendship that was lifelong. She grew her family with the birth of her daughters, Cindy (Stier) and Valorie (Deel). Cindy married Bob Stier giving her two wonderful grandchildren, Brad (who she always affectionately called FBG for First Born Grandchild) and Lindsay. Valorie married Larry Deel giving her two grandchildren, Grady and Jackie. She was most proud of her seven great grandchildren, Bauer and Ellie Grace Adams, Marshall and June Boeheim, and Taylor, Landon and Connor Deel.
Shirley spent the largest part of her professional career as a legal secretary. She enjoyed working with a handful of law firms until she became City Clerk of Kingsland, GA where she retired in 2005 at the age of 68. She always missed the routine of working. She moved to Roswell, GA in 2012. She was thankful to live near her family in her final years. She enjoyed being a member of Mount Pisgah Church.
Shirley leaves behind daughters Cindy (Bob) Stier and Valorie (Larry) Deel. Grandchildren Bradley Stier, Lindsay (Alec) Adams, Grady (Laura) Deel and Jackie (Matt) Boeheim. Great grandchildren Bauer Adams, Ellie Grace Adams, Marshall Boeheim, June Boeheim, Taylor Deel, Landon Deel and Connor Deel. Her brother Clyde (Judi) Crouch and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents George and Hattie Crouch, a brother Albert Crouch and a granddaughter Brooke Deel.
There will be a private family celebration of life where we will give thanks to God for the gift of her life. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to the American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/ or the American Cancer Society https://donate.cancer.org/ .
