

Stephen Lloyd Martin, age 81, of Atlanta, GA. He peacefully passed away on January 9, 2025, in the loving arms of his beloved wife, Bettyann. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Stephen was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born and raised in Elkin, NC. In a small town known for its kind-hearted people and strong faith, Stephen gave his life to Christ at the age of 12. He was a proud graduate of Wake Forest University where he formed many lifelong friendships. It was at Wake Forest where Stephen experienced the happiest day of his life-his wedding to Bettyann in 1974.
After graduation, Stephen attended Officer Candidate School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy during a turbulent time in history. Upon completing his military service Stephen moved to Atlanta, where he met and married his wife, Bettyann. Together, they raised two sons, Richard and Dennis. Throughout his life, Stephen remained deeply connected to his faith and family.
Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Stephen brought joy and music to those around him. He performed with the Atlanta Sentimental Journey Orchestra, at his son’s wedding, an in countless other settings, always sharing his gift of song and laughter.
Stephen’s love for his family was unwavering. He was incredibly proud of his two sons and found immeasurable joy in being a grandfather to Connor and Blake, who brought him great happiness in his later years. Above all, Stephen was blessed to share his life with the most wonderful woman he had ever known, his wife Bettyann.
Stephen in preceded in death by his father, Lloyd D. Martin, his mother, Pauline D, Martin, and his sister, Patsy Martin. He is survived by his wife, Bettyann; sons, Richard and Dennis ( Krista); grandchildren, Connor and Blake; as well as many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on January 26, 2025 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd Roswell, GA 30076. with a celebration of life service will be held immediately following in the funeral home chapel.
