On the Journalism School steps, she found her soul mate, Bruce Hall, whom she married in July of 1964.
From the start, Susie and Bruce were a pair in everything they did. After getting married, they both worked for news stations in Cape Girardeau and Joplin, MO.; Susie as the weather girl and Bruce reporting the news. She became a copywriter after they moved to Jacksonville, FL. In 1971, they moved to New York where Susie started acting in commercials. The following year, they moved to Atlanta, GA where Susie continued her acting career and Bruce continued his 50 year career in journalism.
Susie became a member of AFTRA-SAG in the 1970’s and was elected Vice-President of the local Atlanta chapter. For the next 30 years, Susie performed in countless national and local commercials, movies, and print advertisements. She saw herself as a personality. Susie enjoyed people, loved the spotlight, and was at her best in front of a crowd.
Susie and Bruce found their spiritual home at St. Martin in the Fields Episcopal Church. They were both active members at St. Martin’s for 52 years. Susie served as a member of the Vestry, St. Elizabeth’s Chapter, Bazaar committee co-chair, delegate to the Diocesan Council, Suthers Center (set up, design and volunteer), and Sunday School teacher. The biggest joy of Susie’s life was her family. She and Bruce were married for 53 years and were a team in every way. They raised two children, Jefferson Logan Hall (Horizon) of Savannah, GA, and Sherry Diane Poor (Andrew) of Woodstock, GA. She delighted in being Grammy to her grandchildren Jack and Madelyn Poor.
